DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all our members have an ancestor who contributed to the Revolutionary War. Patriot ancestors were soldiers, privateers, businessmen, and others who contributed to the independence effort. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join. Think you have a Revolutionary ancestor? Need help checking that out? Start your search on our Genealogy page or visit the DAR websites below. Our registrar is available to answer any questions you may have.
